Myeongdong Street, the shopping district of Seoul, South Korea. It is also a street food paradise,
there are a lot of variety of street food available specially on the weekends. Here are the street
food that you should never miss when in Myeongdong and the best part, it is muslim friendly

Gyeranppang
Gyeranppang or Egg Bread is a very popular street food. This street food is very simple as it is
just a whole egg inside the pancake dough but the perfect combination of saltiness and
sweetness to it makes you come back for more. Winter is usually the perfect time to have these
warm egg bread.
Korean style Bulgogi Steak
Another food that are always around are these Korean style beef steak. Cooked with Bulgogi
seasoning and are usually eaten together with bean sprouts.
Eomuk
For a more healthy option, try eomuk! Fishcakes on skewers that are boiled in a delicious and
nutritious broth. Have it on its own or dip it with the Korean chili sauce called Gochujang for a bit
of a spicy kick to it!
Ddeokbokki
Ddeokbokki or tteokbokki is the most popular Korean street food because you can find them in
most stalls not only in Myeongdong but in any part in Seoul. It is a cylinder shaped rice cake
cooked in the Korean chili sauce Gochujang. Most vendors add fish cake in it and served it with
boiled egg. You can also have then in some restaurants where they have variety of add on like
cheese or ramen
Kimbap
Kimbap or Gimbap is a Korean version of sushi. The roll usually consist of vegetables like
carrots, pickled radish, egg rolls and meat. Now there are a lot of versions of kimbap made at
the stalls and even restaurants such as substituting the white rice with fried rice and also adding
cheese to the kimbap could be very delicious too. Kimbap is also really easy to make so some
stalls just made it fresh when ordered so you can choose what do you want to put in your
kimbap.
Hotteok
Hotteok, pronounced ho-tok, are pancakes filled with brown sugar syrup. Sometimes sunflower
are also added to the pancake. In Myeongdong, only the sweet option are available but you can
also get the savory ones that is filled with vegetables and glass noodles at either Insadong or
Namdaemun market.
Pajeon
Pajeon is another type of Korean pancake with variety of fillings or toppings ranging from just
vegetables such as carrots, green onions to beef, chicken and also seafood such as octopus.
Locals usually dip them in a soy sauce but you can also have plain without any sauces.
Grilled Lobster Tail
Lobster tail with cheese topping is also one of the famous one and people talk about this a lot
too. Even though it is on the high price for a street food but after having a bite, most people
forgot how much it cost and think about how worth it the lobster tail is.
