If you enjoy your kopi with a little twist, then here’s the perfect place for you!

Tucked away in Lebuh Noordin, The Star Coffee is an unostentatious coffee cart that has been serving great breakfast on the roadside for over 30 years. With a simple and straightforward menu—including traditional roti bakar and egg on toast—this stall was originally George Town’s best kept secret that only locals know of before media coverage brought attention to it.

Auntie Ang’s (as her loyal customers fondly call her) signature menu, however, is the unique Kopi Peng. What sets this iced coffee apart from typical kopitiam’s iced coffee is the one-of-a-kind latte art that you’ll never find anywhere else!

Brewed the traditional way from scratch, Auntie Ang uses no fancy machine to produce this art. Milk is hand shaken in a small bottle to create the froth that will sit over the ice cubes, and before it’s served, she will draw the star on top of the foam as the magical final touch. This special latte art is also available for hot coffee!

If you’re not a fan of coffee unfortunately, be sure to try another crowd favourite, Auntie Ang’s thick iced milo.

Since this coffee stall is run by Auntie Ang alone, do note the waiting time might be long and the queue can take up to half an hour. But we assure you that it will be worth it!
